So No One Stands Alone
The beach
I stood on a beach trying to protect a baby seal with just thin plastic tape.
A dog tore through the tape and killed the seal because I was alone and had nothing to protect it.
I was ashamed and walked away from wildlife work for six years.
Another volunteer called me crying after she lost an animal because she was out there alone, too.
I built SpeciNate so no kind person is ever left helpless when they show up to help animals.
What I believe
I believe kindness is a practice, not an outcome.
I'm nice, and I don't say sorry for it. And I work very hard so you can trust us.
Stewards get what they need, then get back to the animals.
Backers do something kind, then get back to their day. The story will find them.

How it works
Stewards share up to five needs.
Backers pick one and give any amount.
Every backed need sends its story back: a photo or video from the field.
The campground
I don't back needs myself. I build the campground and keep it safe.
Each campfire is one team and its needs.
Stewards bring the stories from the field.
Backers pull up a chair and keep the fire going.
Field Proof brings each story back to the circle.
My Vow
"Every fully backed need gets proof from the field within 21 days. If it doesn't come, you get your gift back and that steward can't raise more until it does. I'd rather lose a gift than lose your trust."
